The Parker is part of The Daventry Sixth Form. Our Sixth Form is a successful learning environment. Many of our Year 11 students continue their education with us with a high proportion joining us from our DSLV campus. Our students are very well supported by the Sixth Form Team who pride themselves on their personal contact. We have a range of support in place. To aid our students tutors mentor students, we have six review points in the year from which we allocate mentoring support. Teachers deliver revision and after school support as well as time within the timetable as appropriate.
All our students take part in enrichment activities, supporting students with needs in the POD, helping out in classrooms as well as being learning mentors supporting Year 11 students as they prepare for their GCSE examinations. Each year students set up their own work experience week which takes place in July. The student's voice is important to us. The Head Boy and Girl lead the Senate across year 7-13. The Sixth Form has its own voice called The Chambers. Tutor representatives and the leadership team have the opportunity to voice their opinions or bring in new initiatives in both forums.
Students are also very well supported in terms of UCAS, careers and apprenticeships and the vast majority of our students are successful in gaining a place at university. This year 20% more students were accepted onto Russell Group university courses. We expect every student to write a UCAS application and set a very high standard for our students creating a strong work ethic in them. We are very proud that 82% of our students achieved grades A-C in all of their courses, this is above the national average of 77%. Our average grade across three A Levels is C-.
